Betty Green was the first Maine Potato Blossom Queen.
The Presque Isle Historical Society has a number of new mini-exhibits at Maysville this season. One of those will be on Betty Green of Presque Isle.
Betty (1930-2010), daughter of Fay and Gretchen Green (sister to Sonny, aunt to Craig) was considered the 1st Maine Potato Blossom Queen as she was crowned in 1947, the year Fort Fairfield became the permanent host of the festival.
