Updated Spore Trap Results for Southwestern Maine and Southern Aroostook 07/17/25

Attached are updated spore trap catches for these areas as of 7/14.
Looking at the forecast and potential for thunderstorms, it looks as though most areas will remain on a 5-day reapplication schedule for protectant fungicides.  As we approach vegetative maturity as most are, we should be increasing to full application rates of these fungicides.
Early blight models show that for most plantings that had mid-June emergence, they will be entering into their stage of susceptibility next week (300 P-days).  That is the time to target a prophylactic spray targeting early blight.  Earlier emergence than mid-June or earlier maturing varieties should target this application earlier.
