CEO to Address Board

National Potato Council CEO to Address Maine Potato Board Annual Meeting

(Presque Isle) ­ The Maine Potato Board has announced that the National Potato Council Executive Vice President/CEO John Keeling will be the guest speaker at their annual meeting, slated for January 25, 2002.

John Keeling was named Executive Vice President /CEO of the National Potato Council in December. He most recently served as Vice President-Government Affairs for the National Food Processors Association, which is recognized as the industry spokesman on food safety. Keelingšs primary focus was on legislative and regulatory proposals and their potential impact on member companies. He maintains key contacts in Congress, USDA, FDA, and EPA.

The Maine Potato Board is pleased to welcome Mr. Keeling to Aroostook County, explains Assistant Executive Director Don Flannery. "We look forward to working with Mr. Keeling," said Flannery. "His background seems well suited for effective work with growers and processors, hešs a friend to the industry, and wešre anxious to welcome him to our annual meeting."
